Pickering Town are hoping to welcome a trio of former players back into their camp for pre-season.
Boss Mitch Cook is hoping that both Liam Salt and Jon Heads are fully recovered from long-term injuries, while ex-skipper Tommy Adams is also expected to join the NCEL club’s preparatory work.
Salt, who has an impressive goalscoring record for the Pikes, has been struggling over the past few years with a string of knee injuries, while Heads missed the second half of last term.
Adams was a fans’ favourite at Mill Lane until his departure for Scarborough Athletic two seasons ago.
He sat out of the action all last season, apart from making one appearance for Pickering in their game against Bridlington Town.
Cook said: “Liam and Jon’s return to the fold will be like two new signings for the club.
“Liam at his best is a 30 goal a season man, while Jon will be a welcome addition as well.
“I have also spoken to Tommy and he said that he is going to come down for pre-season and take it from there.
“They will all make the squad stronger, which is what we have been lacking.
“Last season we had a good team, but maybe the depth was lacking a bit.”
Pickering have also drawn up a list of pre-season fixtures to ease them into the new campaign.
They start on July 19 with a game at Old Malton, which will be followed on July 22 by a home game against Harrogate Town.
That is followed by an away game at Selby Town on July 26, and then two home games against Scarborough Athletic and Whitby Town respectively on Saturdays July 29 and August 5.
Cook added: “We have some decent games that will test us and attract a few fans down to Mill Lane.”
