Our Under-13s took on Guisborough at the weekend and are showing great signs of promise.

The Under-13s coach Nigel Wilson tells me he was happy with the team’s efforts and that they had the most numbers they’ve had all season, so that’s promising.

They’re getting into a rhythm now and getting used to playing with each other, so that can only be a good thing.

They have a training game in Whitby on Sunday.

The Under-14s also played Guisborough and unfortunately suffered a defeat.

While they had the most players they’ve had all season, they still only had 11 there.

I’m trying to have a big push for new players for this age-group and I’ll be going into schools soon to try and recruit some new players for them.

Another age group we lack numbers at are Under-15s.

This is another area I’ll be looking to put my time into in the near future.

The Under-16s played at home against Grimsby, and unfortunately they were beaten.

The Colts lost 30-20 at Hullensians, but from what I hear the coaches were happy with the performance.

Adam Haxby played his first game for a number of years and impressed.

They play Driffield on Sunday.
