Our effort against Ilkley on Saturday was a marked improvement from the Bridlington performance a week earlier.

The guys really stood together and created opportunties, and that is where we should be.

We were playing a strong Ilkley side who had a big pack and used the ball well and we were unlucky to lose the game.

I thought a draw would have been a fair reflection on the game, but the luck didn’t go our way on the day.

I honestly believe with a fully fit team that we’re a better side than Ilkley.

We’re a better unit , we just seem to have been through a bit of a blip after a solid start and once you’re on that slide it’s sometimes hard to get off.

It was a decent game of rugby to watch on Saturday, and when you actually get two teams who want to play rugby it helps.

Not everyone in this league wants to play rugby legally, which is very disappointing.

It may not have been the highest scoring of games, but it was an enjoyable spectacle.

We go to Dinnington on Saturday and I’m fully confident that we can come away with a win.

We totally played them off the park when they came to Silver Royd and I’m pretty sure they’ll have looked at our result on Saturday and won’t be keen to play us.

Yes, they may be one of the in-form teams in the division, but I don’t expect anything different from the first time we met them.

If we perform on Saturday we’ll have too much for them.

I won’t be at the match this weekend and Rob Hazledine will be taking the lads through for the match, and I’ll be hoping to hear positive news from the guys.

Chris Purdy continues as captain and I doubt there will be many changes from Saturday’s squad, we just need to kick on now.
