Organiser Anne Blood is delighted by the enthusiastic response to a new opportunity for women to get back on their bikes.
These rides known as Breeze rides are part of a scheme promoted by British Cycling. The first two Richardson’s Cycling Club rides have seen numbers grow to 14 women.
Comments from several of the women taking part included, “this is a lovely leisurely pace” and “how nice it is to be out without the children”.
Anne guides the riders along flat, traffic-free routes and manages to find a place for refreshments as part of the ride. The rides start outside the Nags Head in Scalby, the next one will be on Wednesday May 15. More details can be found on the British Cycling website or Richardson’s Cycling Club website.
