Professional boxing returns to Scarborough on Saturday May 11 after cruiserweight prospect Danny Price put the finishing touches to a contract to fight at the Spa’s Grand Hall yesterday.

Price will follow his hero Paul Ingle in fighting at the historic venue when he will top a five-fight card at the venue.

The former amateur star will be looking to make it eight fights unbeaten when he will make the step up to eight rounds against an opponent yet to be named.

Price said: “It is great that I am going to be fighting in Scarborough at such a historic venue.

“I haven’t fought in town since 2001, so it will be great to get back here.

“My fans have been superb so far and have travelled all over the place to support me. This is a great way for me to thank them, and I hope people will get behind me and come down and support on the night.”

Tickets, priced at £35 or £70 ringside, go on sale on Monday and can be bought by ringing the Spa on 01723 357869 or online by visiting www.scarboroughspa.co.uk.

Danny is also selling tickets and can be contacted on 07883060178.
