As temperatures soared over the weekend, competitors were certainly feeling the heat at Malton Riding Club’s One Day Event on Sunday, held at Manor Farm, Thornthorpe.

For the seniors, Jane Williams got proceedings underway in the Senior Triers with a win on Iggy, whilst Joanna Oliver and Charlie claimed the top spot in a highly contested Senior Novice class.

The Open went the way of Jane Williams and Mousse.

The junior classes proved to be very competitive with Ellie Fairclough and her talented skewbald, Little Man claiming victory in the Junior Novice while Callum Small and Sophie Lear went head to head in the Junior Open with Callum claiming victory riding Java.

The club’s next event will be a dressage and showjumping competition at Manor Farm, Thornthorpe on September 23.
