Entries invited for Eileen Elliott Memorial darts competiton

Entries are now being accepted for the 22nd annual Eileen Elliott 19x Memorial Trophy ladies pairs darts competition.

The competition, played on Wednesday evenings throughout the summer, began in 1990 and in the first four years there was just under £2,500 raised for the Yorkshire Cancer Research Fund. In 1993 we, and the competitors, decided that we wanted to back a more local cause and in December of that year, the ‘Scarborough Hospital Chemotherapy Unit Trust Fund’ was set up. Our total raised to date is £26,039.

All of the money raised throughout the competition is given to the MacMillan Nurses at Scarborough Hospital. The money is entirely at their disposal to be used on equipment, necessities and even luxuries for the chemotherapy patients who are being treated in this area. All proceeds from the competition are given to the fund and no fees, whatsoever, are taken by those who organise and help run the competition.

This is a ladies pairs knock-out darts competition and carries a first prize of £150. The entry fee is £4 per pair and entry forms are available from the Leeds Hotel (or phone Scarborough 515187) and an entry form will be posted to you). Entry forms together with the entry fees should be returned to the Leeds Hotel no later than Thursday June 14.
