Fitter Foxes sunk by Wheatcroft Aces

Fitter Foxes were edged out 20-17 by Wheatcroft Aces in their Scarborough Netball League Division Two match at Raincliffe School.

The Foxes now have the backing of local business Fitter Fam, who run fitness sessions for families and adults.

The sponsors paid for the team’s league membership, and have also trained with them.

In the first quarter, there were lots of interceptions and good defending from both teams, as a result it ended all square at 5-5.

Good link-up play between Foxes attack Emily Cole and Lauren allen kept them in the game.

In the second quarter, tight marking from Foxes defender jo fox kept Aces at bay for spells, but the determined Aces attack paid off as they went 13-8 ahead by half-time.

The third quarter was very close as both teams defended really well, the centre and wing players on both sides working really hard.

Lob passes into the Foxes shooting circle enabled Allen to keep in touch with the Aces, but they eventually edged to the 20-17 victory.

The Foxes player of the match was centre Jessie Pinder.
