Scarborough Athletic boss Rudy Funk has called for the people of the town to get behind cruiserweight fighter Danny Price.
Price is poised for his first Scarborough-based bout in a decade on Saturday night as he takes another step on the cruiserweight ladder.
The 27-year-old has been an avid viewer of Boro this season and a number of the club’s players are expected to take in the action at the Spa on Saturday evening.
Funk said: “I hope that everyone from Scarborough gets behind Danny on Saturday night because this is a lad that deserves it.
“Everyone at the club wishes him the best for this fight as he looks to move on again in the sport of boxing.
“It is great for the town to have anyone doing well in sport and Danny is on the verge of achieving great things.
“He has been to a number of our games this season to meet the players and the fans, he is a great lad and if we can do anything to help him then our door is always open.”
