George Pindar Community Sports College’s Year Nine netball team played Caedmon in the District Cup final.

It was quite close for the majority of the match but the Pindar girls earned a 12-8 win against the Whitby school.

There were some amazing defensive skills by player of the match Maria Clapham (goal defence) Lucy Parking (goal keeper) and Rachel Bamford (wing defence).

Helping to get the ball up to the shooters were Chloe Caygill (centre) and Hannah Stephenson (wing attack). Scoring all 12 points were Jade Frank (goal attack) and Abi England (goal shooter).

Team captain Caygill said: “despite the sweltering heat, the team pulled through due to motivational coaches and supporters.

“The girls would like to thank Clair Mcquade for being an excellent coach and helping them end the season on an all-time high.”
