Newby & Scalby completed the top four, all of whom will qualify for the final, which will also take place at Filey Road Sports Centre on Saturday February 8.

The second semi-final is being contested by 13 schools this afternoon.

This year’s competition has seen a record number of entries, with 21 schools battling it out for glory.

Charlie Cappleman was in record-breaking form for Filey when she broke the three-lap girls landmark that had stood since 2003.
