Top heavyweight prospect David Price, who will be guest speaker at Paul Ingle’s benefit dinner in Hull on Friday May 10, has spoken to The Scarborough News of his admiration for him.
Price, who suffered a shock defeat against American Tony Thompson at the Liverpool Echo Arena (pictured right) in his last fight, will be at the KC Stadium next month to answer questions at the dinner organised in honour of Ingle.
Price said: “Paul Ingle was an inspirational fighter to every young boxer when I was a kid.
“He had courage, skills and a great engine.
“He won titles at every level, both amateur and professional and he remains to be an inspiration to this day.”
Price, who regularly spars with Scarborough’s cruiserweight prospect Danny Price, added that he is delighted he can be at the dinner in aid of Paul.
“Paul gave so much to the sport and hopefully now the sport can return something to him,” said Liverpudlian Price, who is set to face Thompson in a rematch on on July 6.
