Young riders shone at Snainton Riding Centre’s unaffiliated dressage competition, Lucy Vincent gaining the highest score in the Prelim class.
Lucy, 15 was riding her six-year-old ex-racehorse Hugo and gained an impressive score of 70 per cent which also saw her lead the way in the Junior Championship the centre are now running.
This was Hugo’s first dressage competition of the year, having competed at the centre last year, but Lucy has spent a lot of time schooling him at home and their hard work certainly paid off with an impressive result for the pair. Hot on Lucy’s heels and just behind her in the Junior Championship was Abby Bodely who also won the Novice class on Morgan.
Michelle Maw, an instructor at Snainton Riding Centre, gained a well earned first place in the Prelim class on her five- year -old mare Breakevie, who is still fairly new to the competition arena, preventing the juniors from gaining a clean sweep.
The next unaffiliated competition at the centre will be on August 2, the final opportunity for riders to qualify for the championship show at the end of the summer.
