DANNY Price has brought boxing back to Scarborough, according to his promoter Frank Maloney.

Twenty-six-year-old cruiserweight Price won his second successive professional fight on Saturday night in Peterlee, much to the delight of promoter Maloney.

After a 41-second debut win against Michal Tomko, Price saw off Zimbabwean Hastings Rasani on points to make it two out of two.

Maloney was also happy to see Paul Ingle, who he managed to the IBF world featherweight title.

He said: “We really have high hopes for Danny, we think that he can really establish himself.

“The way he dealt with an experienced old pro was very impressive.

“Boxing is very much alive in Scarborough again now, which is great to see.”

Maloney added: “It was great to see Paul Ingle at ringside once again because he has been through some tough times.

“We had a chat and it was great to catch up. He did say that he will be coming back more often now, which is great news for boxing.”

Price will find out later this week when and where his next fight will take place.
