PROMOTER Frank Maloney is aiming to put Scarborough professional fighter Danny Price on the same path to success as some of boxing’s greats.
Maloney, who witnessed Price’s third straight professional victory at Liverpool Olympia on Saturday night will be using the same blueprint for success as the one that forced Lennox Lewis, David Haye and Paul Ingle to the top of the game.
Cruiserweight Price’s push up the rankings is already gathering pace after the points win against Tayar Mehmed, and he is set for a swift return to the action on March 10 when he has been scheduled to fight at Doncaster Dome.
Maloney said: “I think that Danny is capable of going all the way.
“He can follow in the footsteps of Paul Ingle because he has plenty of personality and great charisma. Danny also works hard in the gym and listens to what he is told.
“He is in a division that has been crying out for the star and he can be that star.
“I think he was a big loss to the British Olympic team when he was left out, but their loss is my gain.
“We are going to plot the same course that took fighters like Scott Harrison, Paul Ingle, Lennox Lewis and David Haye to the top of the sport.
“It is a tried and tested blueprint that works. We are confident that it will pay off with Danny as well.
“We have two Prices on our books in David and Danny, both of whom are doing well.
“We are working on the marketing of that at the moment, hopefully it will be a successful journey.”
