SCARBOROUGH swimmer Gareth Mills is continuing to make waves as he keeps on track with his goal for Commonwealth glory in 2014.
Mills swam superbly at the Sunderland Aquatics Centre to qualify for the Youth Nationals in Sheffield at the end of July.
But Mills can’t afford to concentrate on the huge event alone as he has a very busy schedule to contend with.
He travels for the Celtic Tri-Nations event between May 27 and 29 when he will swim for Scotland against England and Wales.
He then packs his bags for a trip to Barcelona for a meet for Scotland between June 1-6, before a possibly trip to Serbia.
Fellow Scarborough swimmer Ross Glegg also qualified for the Sheffield event in the same relay team as Mills, much to the delight of the Scotland swimmer, who was also full of praise for coach Sam Greetham.
Mills said: “Sam has been great with us all really. He is a great coach and he is constantly pushing us, which helps.
“Ross and Rebecca swam well at Sunderland, and Ross qualified for Sheffield as part of the same relay team as me. I’m enjoying my swimming atthe moment, it’s hard work though.”
