National victory for ace Turnbull

UNBEATEN over the two days of last weekend’s competition at Scarborough Indoor bowls Centre, Chris Turnbull (Scarborough IBC) and partner Colin Moore (Yeovil IBC) won the 2012 National Visually Impaired Pairs Championship. This gave Chris his sixth title win.

The event was first held in 2000, when Chris and his former partner from Leicester were the winners.

Mike Worden, a totally blind bowler, became Chris`s new partner in 2004, and they were champions in 2005, 2007, 2008 and 2010. Ill health prevented Mike returning this year and so it fell to Colin Moore to step in again to keep Chris on the winning way for his sixth success.
