Picture spotlight: Trophy time for netball hotshots

The McCain Scarborough Netball League held their annual presentation night at The Spa’s Grand Hall.

All the silverware for the season was handed out for the 2012/13 season with Scholars scooping the division one title as well as success in the tournament, handicap and knockout tournaments.

Soba Wasps were runners-up in all the division one competitions apart from the handicap, in which Trafalgar came second.

SNC Marlins secured a second successive promotion while also winning the tournament, while Fylingdales & Whitby won division three.

Helen Dukes was umpire of the year while Lisa Hiley won the contribution to netball trophy, both awards presented by league chair Liz White.

Watermark’s Leanne Anderson was the division one player of the year, while Jess Pinder of Compass won the division two award and SNC Sharks’ Chloe Caygill the division three equivalent, all three handed their awards by league secretary Alison Barnes.

The awards for the most sporting teams went to SNC Barracudas in division one, Wheatcroft in division two and Dale Power in division three.
