Two experienced archers from the Albion Archers club attended the Scorton Gold archery tournament, Sarah Monteith earning a silver in her section.
The event attracted over 100 archers from all around the area, the weather was mixed with slightly grey skies masking the warmth of the sun for most of the competition. The wind proved tricky at times as it changed from an easterly to a westerly between ends of arrows on occasion.
Although Albion Archers weren’t eligible to enter the team tournament this time around as three archers are required to put in their scores but they plan on being in it next year.
The tournament proved testing - three dozen arrows at each of the distances of 80 yards, 60 yards and 50 yards - and although both Monteith and Pete Liley shot fairly well, neither shot their best on the day and this showed in the final results with Monteith coming a close second in the Ladies Recurve category and being presented with the silver medal and trophy.
Albion Archers club is open to experienced archers and beginners alike. If you would like further information about the club or it’s beginner’s courses please contact Monteith via firstname.lastname@example.org or see our website for further information www.albionarchers.org.uk
