Scarborough and Westway’s finest ready for tough bouts

Scarborough ABC boxers will be looking to finish their successful 2014/15 season with a bang at their annual show at the Blue Dolphin Holiday Park.

Scarborough boxers that will be taking part in the exciting 14 fight programme tonight are Josh Pickin, Harvey Liggot, Riley Metcalf, Harry Ingle, Andy Griffiths, Robert Lee, Ben Porter, Kyle O’Toole and Jamie Scotter.

Westway ABC’s Justin Rudd, Lewis Spaven and George Parry will be joined by Whitby’s Harry Calvert in completing a formidable local line up on show.

Top of the bill is Scotter, fresh from a fantastic points victory over England international and ABA national finalist Pete Martin.

However, also in fine form with two back-to-back stoppage victories is Lee, who will be looking for revenge against Kingston ABC boxer Harley Raper.

Ingle, who recently lost an extremely close points decision in the finals of the Yorkshire Schoolboy championships, will be determined to get back to winning ways when he faces a tough opponent in Barnsley’s Lewis Greenhoff.

Scarborough ABC’s coaches are all exceptionally keen to see youngsters Pickin, Piggott and Riley in action as all three lads have been preparing meticulously for their bouts on the night.

All in all with club-mates Porter, O’Toole and Griffiths chomping at the bit, those who attend will certainly be in for an exciting evening of amateur boxing.

Club members will also all be wearing new tracksuits donated by club sponsor, The Liggott Meat Company of Bridlington, at what will be the club’s final show for the season and is staged at the Blue Dolphin Holiday Park.

Tickets will be available on the doors, which open at 7.30pm, with boxing commencing at approximately 8pm, or tickets can be purchased by calling 07738291809.

Adult tickets are priced at £10, while under-14s and OAPs can get in for £6.
