Local anglers Mark Beaumont and Dave Bielby snapped up victories on the third day of the Scarborough Angling Festival.

Beaumont’s 52lb 8oz bag earned him the honours in the Vice Admiral of Yorkshire Coast boating competition, almost eight pounds clear of closest rival Ernie Eves (44-12-0).

Bielby scooped victory in the Bill Bayes Memorial Trophy roving competition with a 12-10-10 total, Andy Crowe netting second spot.
