The annual Scarborough & District Sports Council golf day will be looking to raise money for helped members of the armed forces and their families as well as helping fund local sports clubs and sportspeople.

There is still time to sign up for the event, being held on Wednesday May 29 at North Cliff Golf Club, which is organised to raise funds for Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA) Forces Help and the Scarborough & District Sports Council Grants Scheme with all monies raised given to local sports clubs and sportspeople.

The entry fee for each team is £100, with tee-times still available from 1pm to 3pm.

The competition is a fourball AM-AM medal, with a 3/4 handicap maximum, a field of 24 men and 36 ladies. The best two nett scores count for each team.

There are prizes for the top three teams and nearest the pin on the par 3s as well as for the longest drive on the 16th hole.
