Cyclists are being invted to come along to Scarborough’s Spin Sprint Series third round at the Filey Road sports centre on Monday evening, 7.30pm start.

All clubs are invited to the ‘spin to win’ event, which is located in the Oasis Bar, with the competition organised on a first come, first served basis.

Cycling is very popular at the moment, mainly due to the success of the likes of Bradley Wiggins in the Tour de France and the Olympics in London, so the organisers are hopeful of attracting a large field of bikers.

The organisers are also keen to emphasise that the competition is open to general members of the public as well as members of cycling clubs.

It costs £2 a ride and the riders can enter as many times as they want on the night and a cash prize will go to the fastest time set. There are different competitions for under-14s under-16s and Vets.

Front wheel supports will be provided for those who cannot ride free rollers.

All profits from the event go towards the Scarborough Festival of Cycling to help make the event bigger and better.

There will be bikes available but competitors can bring their own road or track bikes, however your own bike would have the front wheel removed and fixed to a quick release mount. Gearing is restricted to 5.61 metres or 70.9 inches.
