Westway’s Chance Wedge has enjoyed a successful couple of weeks after a winning the vacant Yorkshire Challenge Belt before defending it only seven days later.
Chance, 19, travelled to Halifax to take on Johnny Smith of Market District Boxing Club of Leeds for the vacant bantamweight title.
Wedge had to call upon his slick footwork and superb fitness skills to stay away from the aggressive Smith to secure the win and the title.
The Westway boxer didn’t waste any time in defending his new strap, travelling to Doncaster to take on home favourite Ryan Sykes.
Wedge silenced a raucous crowd, again using his slick boxing skills on the back foot to keep the aggressive Sykes, 22, at bay to win a unanimous points decision to cap a successfull couple of weeks.
