Westway Boxing Club have lined up a top-class bill of fights for their annual dinner show at the Crown Spa Hotel on Saturday evening.
Nine Westway boxers will be in action at the event, which starts at 7pm, with the top bouts being the ones involving the club’s top three boxers, Sean Ireland, George Horner and George Rhodes Jnr.
Ireland and Horner are set to be fighting for Yorkshire titles, while Rhodes had also been set to compete for a county belt but his opponent has had to withdraw due to being involved in a car accident, so his father, club coach George Rhodes Snr, is busy trying to line up another opponent.
Also on the bill are light-heavyweight Mathew Tinker, senior bantamweight Chance Wedge, as well as youngster Jordan Rhodes, 10, who is making his debut in a skills bout. Jonjo Horner, George’s younger brother, and siblings Lewis and Ben Spaven complete the bill.
There are still some tickets, priced £38, for the three-course dinner and boxing show left. Contact promoter Craig Salt on 07971673859 to buy tickets.
