GREAT Britain team eventing silver medallist Nicola Wilson will be coming to Manor Farm, Thornthorpe on April 2 and 16 to run clinics for members of Malton Riding Club and local riders keen to pick up tips from the talented Olympian.
Unsurprisingly the clinics booked up very quickly, however the club would like to encourage those unable to take part in the clinics to come along and spectate.
“We are very proud to have Nicola Wilson coming to Malton Riding Club and it is a fantastic opportunity for local riders to benefit from the skills and knowledge that took her to the Olympics,” said the club’s secretary Katie Robertshaw.
It has been quite a year for Nicola, who is based nearby in Northallerton and grew up learning the ropes as a member of the Hurworth Pony Club, so she understands the importance of good training for grass roots level riders.
No doubt the highlight of her career to date has been the London 2012 Olympics and riding alongside teammates Zara Phillips, Mary King, Tina Cook and William Fox-Pitt to win silver in the three-day team eventing competition and she will be looking to share the training and methods that took her to the top of her sport with local riders in April.
