Scarborough Pirates winter coach Adam Lee walked off the pitch after his side’s 32-16 defeat to Cottingham Tigers in the Tom Beautiman Cup Final a proud man.

Lee put his players through their paces in the build-up to their big final, leaving no stone unturned in a bid to give his side the best possible chance against a strong Tigers outfit.

Lee teamed up with Compass Gym to put on a Boot Camp and instructor Gav Fitton was on hand last week to drill the Pirates.

Lee said: “Nick Ingham, who owns Compass, came and played a few games for the Pirates last year and this is something I’ve wanted to do for a while now with the lads.

“Craig Farrell asked Nick for us and he agreed to do a few sessions with us free of charge, which was great of them.

“The instructor, Gav Fitton, knew his stuff and really put the lads through their paces.

“The main thing that impressed me was the commitment of all the players.

“They all love playing and training and I really hope that continues.”
