The Scarborough Pirates were handed a double awards boost to polish off an outstanding season for the Eastway club.
At the Yorkshire League’s end of season awards the Pirates won the Club of the Year Award, which encompasses all their member leagues, while player-coach Adam Lee scooped the Coach of the Year Award for the Group One division.
A delighted Lee said: “We weren’t expecting to win either award, so everyone was over the moon.
“The club award is brilliant for us, and the coaches award is voted for by the other coaches in the league, so to win that is an honour.”
Lee was quick to dedicate their awards to the people who work behind the scenes at the club.
He added: “This is dedicated to the likes of Nichola Paddock, who put hours and hours of their time into running the club, we just turn up and play.”
