Scarborough Pirates took a step closer to securing the Yorkshire Mens Group one title with a 34-22 win at Leeds Akkies on Saturday.

This now puts Adam Lee’s troops within touching distance of the league crown, and the win in Leeds was the perfect tonic after the previous week’s loss at home to Drighlington.

The Pirates will now head to Drighlington on Saturday August 9 knowing that a win would confirm the title win for Lee’s charges.

The Pirates A team suffered a 44-4 loss at home to Group Two leaders Shaw Cross Sharks.

Keith Paddock’s team will play host to Normanton Knights on Saturday August 9 at Eastway.
