The Scarborough Pirates have indicated their interest in playing at the new Weaponness Leisure Village, should the opportunity arise.

The Pirates sealed promotion to the Yorkshire Men’s Premier Division and made their debut in the prestigious Ladbrokes Challenge Cup last week.

Now club officials have said they’d be keen to discuss a potential tenancy at the council’s proposed facility at Weaponness.

Player-coach Adam Lee said: “We are a developing club and we’re ambitious too.

“If the chance to speak to someone about playing at Weaponness came up we’d be up for discussing it.”

Club chairman Keith Paddock added: “If it could work for us then we’d be open to looking at it.”
