SCARBOROUGH Pirates may have to shuffle their pack for this Saturday’s trip to Cutsyke Raiders in the Yorkshire Premier East League.
Coach Chris Keld is set to be without some of his key players for the clash in West Yorkshire.
Jamie Broadmore is a long-term injury casualty with a fractured knee-cap, while winger Stuart Barker is ruled out with a broken rib.
Full-backs Mike Picken and Harry Sleep are also struggling to make it for the match against a Raiders side which beat the Pirates at Eastway on the opening day of the season.
Club chairman Dave Marsden said: “There are a few injuries to some important players and Chris will probably have to switch things around to get the best out of the lads he has available.
“The likes of Jamie Broadmore, Stuart Barker and Mike Picken have had really strong campaigns and it is a massive blow to lose them.”
The Pirates were without a game at the weekend after Walton Warriors pulled out of the fixture at Eastway but they are still top of the table.
Marsden added: “We were disappointed not to play last Saturday but it may have given one or two the opportunity to get over some niggling injuries.
“We are still top of the table and it would not be the end of the world if we lost at Cutsyke but we are also looking for a bit of revenge after they beat us on the opening day of the season on our own patch.”
