Scarborough’s Zoe Aldcroft starred as England under-18s rugby union side dominated the inaugural European Sevens Championships in Sweden over the weekend.
England ran in 45 unanswered tries in their six games, scoring 269 points and conceding none in the process.
England eased past hosts Sweden 48-0 in their opening group match before beating Wales 43-0, Ireland 43-0 and Portugal 45-0 to qualify for the semi-finals.
Russia gave Aldcroft and her teammates their toughest test in the last four, England winning 36-0 to set up a final clash against the Welsh.
England hammered Wales 54-0 to pick up the trophy without conceding a point to complete a superb weekend.
Aldcroft will play for Gloucester’s women in the top flight next season, while also casting an eye on the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil, in which women’s sevens rugby will make its debut.
