Scarborough RUFC’s new coach Lee Douglas is relishing the thought of kicking off his first pre-season with the club.
Douglas met a number of his senior players for the first time on Thursday night and he was delighted by their positive attitude heading into the new Yorkshire One campaign.
The former Brid man is now poised to put them through their paces for the first time when their preparatory work gets underway on Tuesday July 2 at Silver Royd.
“I can’t wait to get my teeth into it and the players are the same,” said Douglas.
“I have met with the senior players, we had a good chat and they told me a few things that I will take on board.
“It is important that we are heading in the right direction and from what I have seen of the lads I couldn’t ask for any more.
“Much of it is about setting goals, not just those about where we have aspirations of finishing in the league, but also personal goals.
“I’m confident that the players will do that because their attitudes look to be top notch.”
