SCARBOROUGH player-coach Craig Farrell insists his side won’t take rock-bottom Huddersfield YMCA lightly on Saturday - and that the defensive unit at Silver Royd still needs to improve if the side are to klck-on and push up the Yorkshire One table.

Farrell and his team-mates tackle Huddersfield on the back on two morale-boosting victories in as many games, and despite not knowing a lot about the visitors to Silver Royd, who were promoted into Yorkshire One last season, the home side will be keen to get on the front foot.

Farrell said: “Everyone’s focussed on getting another win on Saturday.

“We’ve had a couple of good wins in the past few weeks but we still need to improve defensively.

“We leaked 40 points last week and that has to stop if we’re going to climb up the table.

“From what we’ve heard they’re a young side and good going forward. Where they have fallen short so far is that they lack size in the forwards and have been dominated.

“But we know they’ll pose as much a threat as any team and we’ll not be taking anything for granted at all.”

Bill Freeman and Paul White return to the side, much to the delight of Farrell.

He added: “Rob James did a great job for us last week but he’s more comfortable on the wing.

“Bill Freeman comes in at nine and Paul White returns in the centre after an injury. Tom Ratcliffe goes back out to the wing.”
