Scarborough YDO and first team fly-half Tom Harrison was delighted with his side’s flying start in their home Yorkshire One 36-22 win against Pontefract on Saturday.

Harrison, who contributed 11 points with his boot to the game, said: “It was great to get a win and we got off to flying start with a couple of tries in the opening minutes of the game.

“However we did switch off at 12-0 and deservedly got a kick in the pants as Pontefract played with composure and pulled a couple of tries back to take the lead at the break.”

Harrison added: “As usual our support here got right behind us and great work by our much shuffled pack and the youngsters in the side Sam, Jake and Corey saw us dominate the second half.

“Graeme Jeffrey, Cory Dennis and Tom Ratcliffe always looked lethal in what I’m sure was a very exciting afternoon for our spectators.

“Pontefract looked to play the same adventurous brand of rugby as us but for the second time this season our back division was the more effect of the two units.”
