Four teams stepped in at the 11th hour to replace clubs who dropped out of the Yorkshire Sevens tournament held at Scarborough RUFC’s Silver Royd base on Saturday.
Catterick, Whitby, Scarborough and Guisborough came in at the last minute to fill the vacancies
Grasscutters (Beverley) and The Mighty Peth (Morpeth) ruled the roost with Peth winning the round-robin competition.
Scarborough acquitted themselves well running Beverley very close before going down 17-15 and a great game saw them just beaten by a Fijian dominated Catterick side 21-17.
The Seasiders had the upper hand in their local derby with Whitby, winning 24-5 but disappointingly went down 24-14 to Bridlington.
