Scarborough RUFC is back on the road on Saturday as they take on Hullensians on Humberside.

Last week the Seasiders gave league leaders Bradford & Bingley a run for their money at Silver Royd before going down 25-18 to a late try.

Hullensians are fourth in Yorkshire One, just above Scarborough and have been dogged by inconsistency this season typified by recent results where an away defeat at bottom club West Park Leeds (19-18) was followed by the 17-13 home defeat of high-flying Bridlington. Last week they just edged past strugglers Yarnbury 15-14.

The clubs produced a nine-try spectacular when they met in the corresponding game at Silver Royd earlier in the season with Scarborough winning 38-29.

Both teams earned a tries-scored bonus point with Scarborough running in five and Hull getting four.

For Saturday’s game Wesley Langkilde, who had a stormer against the Humbersiders earlier in the season, starts in the front row with Jack Ireland at lock and Richard Scales in the back row.

The three-quarters are as last week with Mark Hopper, Ben Martin and Toby Welsby on the bench.

James Leach who has been sidelined since the first XV game at York before Christmas returns for the Vikings against Hullensians Hawks at Silver Royd.

The Scarborough second string which includes Joe Lenton, Andy Rossol, Matty Young and Hayden Ogilvie will look to get back to winning ways following last week’s 41-10 reverse at Driffield.

All Saturday games kick off at 2.15pm.

The Valkyries are in action on Sunday as they travel to York RI in the league, following consecutive home wins against Harrogate and Bishop Aukland, the Scarborough ladies will look to avenge a 12-0 defeat by the Minster Maids before Christmas.
