Scarborough RUFC coach Lee Douglas has big plans for the new year.
Douglas has guided the Silver Royd club to seventh in his first half-season in charge, they lie a very attainable nine points away from second place.
As well as looking to focus on mindset in the second half of the season, Douglas is also looking to build for a very bright future.
He said: “It has been a bit of a rollercoaster ride. We have gone from playing some fantastic rugby in periods of games to playing some horrible stuff.
“It is about keeping the consistency over the 80 minutes, which is something we haven’t done.
“We have to change the mentality of the team, which is what we will be working hard on over the next weeks, months and further into the future.
“If you look at the table, everyone is beating everybody else and we are only a few points away from second place.
“At the start of the season the lads said that they wanted to finish in the top three and have a good run in the Yorkshire Shield.
“If that aim is to be realistic they have to up their performance and consistency.
“Personally I just hate losing and because of that I want us to win every game.”
“All of the time we are putting plans together, be it for this season or further into the future.
“The whole thing is a work in progress at the moment, but it is great that we have the opportunity to work like that.”
