Scarborough Rugby Club have announced a major new shirt sponsor deal with Heineken.

The shirts, bearing the logo of Theakston’s Brewery, were presented to coach Lee Douglas and captain Tom Ratcliffe prior to Saturday’s Yorkshire One fixture with North Ribblesdale by Theakston Brewery executive director Simon Theakston.

The sponsorship will run for three years, and SRUFC chief executive Graeme Young said: “We’re delighted that Theakston has chosen to partner with Scarborough Rugby Club to enhance their brand on the east coast.

“It’s pleasing that we will be displaying a traditional Yorkshire heritage company on our shirts.

“Dave Marsden of Heineken played a significant role in bringing the deal together and he continues to be a great friend to the club.”
