Scarborough RUFC gave league-leaders Bradford & Bingley a run for their money in an eight try thriller at Silver Royd.

An early Ant Coffey penalty saw Scarborough lead 3-0 early on but three tries saw the visitors take control in the first quarter.

Coffey kicked a second penalty and converted a Paul White try on the stroke of half-time to reduce the arrears to 15-13 at the break.

Winger Graeme Jeffrey scored a spectacular try to nudge his side 18-15 ahead in the 50th minute, but Scarborough continued to struggle at the scrum and Bradford scored a couple of late touchdowns to keep their promotion push on track.

A spirited performance with Canadian international Liam Murray in fine form delighted a big Silver Royd turnout, but until they can solve their tight-five problems, Lee Douglas' side will fail to meet their undoubted potential.
