Scarborough RUFC Valkyries captain Cathy-Ann Myers is hoping her side can put their recent poor run of form behind them with victory against Harrogate on Sunday, 2.30pm kick-off.
The Valkyries started like a house on fire in their first season of competitive rugby, but have suffered three defeats on the bounce and numbers have dipped of late.
Myers (pictured right) is keen to see her side return to winning ways, starting this Sunday.
She said: “We’ve had a poor run of form, but we’ve proved that we can equal most teams.
“We’ve lost a few players for various reasons, through both injuries and working commitments, so we’re down to the bare 15 for Sunday.
“We beat Harrogate away, but I remember the scoreline not reflecting how tough the game was, so we’ll need to play well this Sunday to win.
“We had a lot of the ball in our last game, but we couldn’t convert that possession into points on the board and we’ll need to improve on that.”
The Valkyries are keen to welcome any new players to training sessions on Mondays and Thursdays from 6pm.
The team are also hosting a fundraising race night after Sunday’s game and all are welcome to attend.
