Rugby World Cup-winning England and Lions legend Mike Catt, a Yorkshire Bank Ambassador was in Scarborough yesterday to help raise funds for St Catherine’s Hospice.
Whilst in the town, the current England International backs Coach was a guest at Scarborough Rugby Club where he held a training session for Graham School pupils, made an extended visit to the hospice and was guest at a Dinner and Q&A session with Yorkshire Bank guests in the club’s Qdos Suite.
Catt arrived early in the afternoon and headed straight to Silver Royd with the Yorkshire Bank’s Jonathan Lucas and took a coaching session with pupils from Graham School with their teacher Craig Farrell and Scarborough Youth Development Officer Tom Chadwick.
Coaches and players had a great time before he was whisked off for a visit to the hospice.
He then returned to Silver Royd for dinner and what turned out to be a very informative and enlightening Q&A session given that he is a vital member of England Coach Stuart Lancaster’s coaching team as the Rugby World Cup approaches next year.
Funding raising at the dinner realised a four figure sum which was matched by the Yorkshire Bank ending a successful day for St Catherine’s Hospice and its patients, Graham School’s young rugby players, Scarborough RUFC and the Yorkshire Bank and its Ambassador.
