Scarborough RUFC chief executive Graeme Young is confident that tomorrow’s Yorkshire Shield quarter-final will get the go-ahead after a 9am pitch inspection.

The pitch has taken a lot of water on and their highly-anticipated last-eight clash with Guisborough will be subject to an inspection of their Silver Royd pitch at 9am tomorrow morning.

But Young is remaning confident that the game will get the green light.

He said: We’re having a pitch inspection at 9am, but I’m confident the game will go ahead.

“It will depend on the amount of rain we get overnight though and we’ll have to see how the pitch holds up.”

Should the game get the go-ahead, kick-off is 2.15pm with admission set at £5, under-18s getting in free of charge.

The RBS Six Nations clash between France and England will also be shown in the clubhouse after the match.

Scarborough welcome back skipper Phil Watson following a short injury lay-off, while Tom Harrison has been passed fit and plays at full-back with Tom Ratcliffe at 10.
