Scarborough skipper Andrew Simpson and former captain Darren Harland led by example as their side beat Appleby Frodingham in the Yorkshire League by eight wickets.
Appleby moved to a useful score of 231-8 at the half-way stage, aided by a knock of 116 from Matt Morland.
He became the second of young Charlie Hodgson’s victims though in his 2-40, while Matty Watson collected 2-58.
After losing Peter Shally for five, Simpson and Harland teamed up to blow Appleby away with respective scores of 108 and 86 not out.
Simpson’s tally include 14 fours and two sixes, while Harland struck eight fours and one six.
The result moved Scarborough out of the division’s bottom two.
