SCARBOROUGH communities can get help and advice on promoting the heritage in their area at a one-day conference on Thursday November 10.
Held at Whitby Museum, speakers at the conference include leading experts from the Association of Heritage Interpreters and English Heritage.
The conference is being organised by the North York Moors, Coast & Hills LEADER Programme in cooperation with other coastal LEADER areas. It aims to support and encourage communities to promote and celebrate the heritage of the coast through events, festivals and other awareness raising activities.
In addition to presentations, the day will include practical workshops on planning and producing interpretation and engaging audiences through events. Mike Horrocks, the North York Moors, Coast & Hills LEADER programme manager, said: “Through the LEADER Programme, we have provided support to a whole range of projects from events celebrating the 100 year history of Saltburn’s Community Arts Centre to access improvements to the Cinder Track, the former Whitby to Scarborough railway line.”
