SCARBOROUGH youngsters are set to be transported to a fantastical and mythical world during a special storytelling festival in the town.
The festival, run by North Yorkshire County Council, will offer families the chance to listen to two of the country’s most renowned performance storytellers in Xanthe Gresham and Ben Haggarty.
There will also be puppetry and ﬁlm and music-making.
Xanthe Gresham will take a tour of folk tales from around the globe.
Ben Haggarty, who is renowned for his playful, physical and challenging performances in venues from caves to the Carnegie Hall and Soho theatres, will enter the world of Russian fairytale where the Tsar’s winter palace has demon problems.
The festival, which is run in partnership with Rollercoastival, will be held in Scarborough Library, in Vernon Road, tomorrow.
It is a prelude to Scarborough Literature Festival from Thursday April 12 to Sunday April 15.
The Literature Festival will see the return to her home town of Susan Hill, the award-winning author of The Woman in Black.
