YOUNGSTERS from a Scarborough theatre school were treated to a special performance technique workshop by a professional singer.
Ellie Fitzpatrick, who spent many years working as a professional singer across the country and now works as a primary school teacher, gave a special one-off performance workshop for two Early Stages classes at Stagecoach Scarborough.
She taught them about microphone technique, performing skills and also brought in her sound desk to explain how the sound is transferred from the microphone to the sound desk and sound balancing.
Principal Nicky Sweeney-Chisholm said ““This term our students have been focusing on technique in the three classes of dance, drama and singing.
“Although they are our youngest students in the school we felt it would be beneficial for them to take part in a specialised vocal workshop, especially as one of our students was successful in auditioning and being accepted for an agency earlier this term and some of our older Early Stages students will be moving up into our main school next term.
“They all thoroughly enjoyed it and surprised me at their confidence!”
