YOUNGSTERS in Scarborough have found a fun way of keeping fit by joining in with the latest dance craze sweeping the country – Zumba.

A new class called Zumbatomic, for children aged three and over, is based on the adult Zumba structure but has been specially adapted for children.

Julie Hatton, principal at the Hatton School of Performing Arts and qualified Zumba instructor, said: “I have over 20 years’ experience as a dance and fitness instructor and Zumbatomics is proving to be a fun way of fusing fitness and basic principles of dance for youngsters.

“It’s great for kids, they get to keep fit and learn lots of different dance styles without realising it.”

The new class takes place on Saturday mornings between 11.30am and 12.15pm and is divided into two age groups.
