RAIN failed to put a dampener on the annual George Pindar Community Sports College prom.
Held at the Spa, the event was attended by 105 year 11 students and staff members.
As usual, pupils arrived in style, with jeeps, open-top buses, limousines and Bentleys on display.
Headteacher John Senior, who was present throughout the evening, said: “Events like this bring out the best in young people.
“As usual, the young people went out of their way to make the occasion memorable and special. Clearly no effort had been spared in thinking up different ways to arrive and making sure everybody looked their best.
“The evening finished past the published finish time with lots of goodbyes, good lucks and a few tears.”
Pupils took the opportunity to have their photographs taken after being served cocktails on arrival.
They entered the prom to music which one of the college’s teachers played on a piano.
