VISITORS to Scarborough’s Woodend Art and Craft Gallery will be able to see the handiwork of creative people from Filey and Hunmanby who took part in a series of workshops based on the art of the decorated teacup.
The work, which used recycled materials, will go on display alongside a professional exhibition celebrating our national favourite drink and associated accompaniments.
The project was co-ordinated by artist Jane Poulton, who ran workshops at Filey and Hunmanby libraries as well as venues in Scarborough, encouraging members of the public to submit their own decorated cups.
She said particular thanks were due to the staff at Filey Library who were extremely helpful and supportive in hosting the workshops.
The exhibition will open on Monday, June 6 and run until June 28. Admission is free.
